Steve was not only an architect; he was a collaborator, a revitalizer, a developer, a leader, a mentor, and - most of all - a dear friend. His unwavering faith in architecture’s power to transform people and communities was contagious. He had a fierce loyalty to his colleagues and was tireless in his mission to support them in creating places that bring people together. Steve’s legacy is evident throughout the city of Raleigh and the state of North Carolina, in the many spaces he helped to create.
